30th Sept 2012: Dupuytren Foundation 2012 Research Grants announced.
07th Aug 2012: Xiapex is now being considered as to whether NICE should review its use in order to develop guidance for it for Dupuytren’s.
14th May 2012: Following a resubmission by ourselves and other parties, the Scottish Medical Consortium (SMC) accepts the use of Xiapex for restricted use within the NHS.
23rd April 2012: ITV Tyne Tees report on the North East Treatment Advisory Group recommendation for Xiapex treatment on the NHS.
21st April 2012: Family, friends and Ledderhose patient and blogger Gary Manley participated in a fundraising run for Gary’s treatment, and to help with donations to the British Dupuytren’s Society. Read more about the event here on Gary’s blog
31 March 2012: The 2012 International Dupuytren’s Award was presented to Dr Guido Dolmans, for his paper on ‘Wnt signaling and Dupuytren’s Disease’
25th Mar 2012: The British Dupuytren’s Society were invited to give a talk at the North East branch of the College of Podiatry annual convention.
20th Mar 2012: The North East Treatment Advisory Group (NETAG) has revised its decision from August 2011 and recommends Xiapex on the NHS for Dupuytren’s contracture under limited conditions.
19th Mar 2012: NHS Devon gives conditional approval to use Xiapex injections for treatment of Dupuytren’s Contracture on the NHS.
9th Mar 2012: Web-site updates: we have published a history page about Dupuytren’s, and also a treatment options leaflet and comparison table for Dupuytren’s.
2nd Feb 2012: Real People magazine has published an interview with one of our members who recently had surgery for a Dupuytren’s affected finger. You can read her story here.
13th Jan 2012: Collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (Xiapex) is recommended as an option for treatment within NHS Wales.
